On 4 November 2025, the Erasmus+ National Office Morocco organised a national workshop at Mohammed V University in Rabat, bringing together associations from across the country engaged in youth development. The event offered an opportunity to discover the Capacity Building in Youth (CBY) action and to explore the possibilities offered by the Erasmus+ programme in a collaborative and informative setting.
The workshop opened with remarks from Ms. Mejer, Deputy Head of the Youth Unit at the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Her intervention set the tone for the day by presenting the programme’s priorities in the Southern Mediterranean region and underlining the importance of fostering meaningful cooperation between organisations across borders.
Understanding the Foundations of a CBY Initiative
Participants were then invited to reflect on the essential elements that contribute to a well-conceived CBY project. Without going into technical detail, the session highlighted the importance of identifying local needs, building balanced partnerships, and shaping projects with clear objectives and coherence. This general guidance provided attendees with a clearer picture of how to approach future opportunities within Erasmus+.
Sharing Experiences Through Inspiring Testimonies
One of the most engaging moments of the event came from the contributions of three associations that had already implemented CBY projects. Their testimonies offered concrete examples of the positive results such initiatives can yield. They spoke about the opportunities that emerged, the challenges encountered, and the long-lasting benefits these projects brought to their organisations and to the young people they serve.
Encouraging Dialogue and Strengthening Connections
The workshop also dedicated time to informal exchanges between participants, experienced associations, and representatives of the Erasmus+ National Office. These conversations allowed attendees to ask questions, explore potential collaboration, and refine early project ideas. This networking dimension played a key role in reinforcing the national community engaged in youth development and encouraging the emergence of new partnerships.
Overall, the workshop of 4 November offered an enriching environment for associations committed to supporting young people. Through shared insights, lived experiences, and open dialogue, the event contributed to building a more connected and better-informed ecosystem, capable of taking full advantage of international cooperation opportunities in the years ahead.
